Leah is the Founder of Set Apart Global Ministries and a founding member of the Garland Women For Good. Leah, a native of Zimbabwe, migrated to the United States in the mid-1990s. She accepted Christ in her late teenage years, but it was in 2004—while attending the Women of Faith Conference in Dallas, themed Irrepressible Hope—that she had a life-changing encounter with God's love. During this conference, she realized that even in moments of emptiness and weariness, God is always present, ready to restore and fill us with His compassion. That day, Leah was set free from the pain she had carried for years, and she felt a deep calling to share this newfound freedom with young girls.
Her vision to encourage and uplift young girls began to take shape in 2007 when she started hosting in-home gatherings called The Princess in Me. These gatherings created a safe space for girls in her neighborhood to hear the gospel and be reminded of their worth as daughters of the King of Kings.
Four years later, Leah expanded her ministry by mentoring teenage and college-age students in her home. The focus of these meetings was Patience, Purity & Purpose, where she openly shared her journey, testifying to how God transformed her pain into beauty. She believed that while hardships are part of life, the love of Jesus can redeem and restore, and our testimonies can help others navigate their own struggles.
Recognizing a greater calling to reach beyond her home and neighborhood, Leah officially launched Girls Set Apart Ministries in 2014—a diverse, Bible-based nonprofit organization mentoring girls from elementary through high school. Alongside other women who shared her passion, she dedicated herself to discipling young girls and pointing them to Christ. In 2019, the ministry expanded to include young boys through Boys of Valor, leading to the name change to Set Apart Global Ministries.
Today, Leah, her husband, and their children reside in Princeton, Texas. Her husband owns and operates an auto mechanic shop, while she continues to pour into the lives of young people. She enjoys writing, cooking, small-space decorating, staying active, and pursuing ongoing educational opportunities.
“As my children grow, I find myself with more time to study God's Word and encourage women through public engagements. Yet, above all, my highest and most treasured calling is to be a wife to my husband and a mother to our children.”
